Scam Alert: No, the coronavirus vaccine isn't being given at your house

Rabun County Sheriff Chad Nichols is alerting residents to a news cam involving the coronavirus vaccine.

According to Nochols, scammers are calling residents to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine to be given at the resident’s home. In the course of the call, the scammer asks residents for personal information in exchange for making an appointment.

The coronavirus vaccine is in short supply and is not being administered by home health care nurses or in people’s homes at this point.

Nichols is reminding residents not to give out any personal information over the phone to someone you do not know or were not expecting to call.
