Gwinnett firefighters save dog from burning house

DACULA — Firefighters in Gwinnett County saved a pet dog from a burning home Sunday night.

The late night blaze caused heavy damage to a home on Back Creek Chase in Dacula. Flames were engulfing the back of the house and shooting through the roof when fire crews arrived at 10:12 p.m.

A resident discovered the fire after returning home to find dense smoke inside when she opened the front door. Firefighters safely removed a small dog that was in a crate on the back porch.

There were no injuries reported. The exact cause of the fire is undetermined.
