Arrest made in fatal shooting near Georgia Gwinnett College

Gwinnett County police say they have arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting at an apartment complex near Georgia Gwinnett College. The shooting had the school on lockdown Thursday morning.

The victim in this case has been identified as 23-year-old Bradley Jordan. Investigators have arrested 26-year-old Roceam Wilson, who police identify as a homeless man, and charged him with murder.

Detectives in the case say they believe Jordan was at the location for his job as a pest control worker when he was approached by Wilson outside of one of the apartments.  At this time, a motive for the fatal shooting is not clear.

Wilson has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Felony Murder, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.

Officers responded to the Sugar Mill apartments at 855 Walther Blvd just after 10 a.m., after someone called 911 to report hearing a gunshot and seeing a man lying at the bottom of a stairwell.

When officers arrived, they discovered Jordan was dead with at least one gunshot wound.

The Georgia Gwinnett College campus was initially put on lock down as officers searched the area for potential suspects. A K9 unit responded and a thorough search of the area was conducted. Once the search was completed the lockdown was lifted.
