Fatal crash in Forsyth County kills 67-year-old man

A 67-year-old man is dead following a car crash in Forsyth County Wednesday morning.

The Forsyth County 911 center began receiving calls regarding a single vehicle crash in the area of Post Road and Wills Road at about 11 a.m. The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, along with other emergency personnel, arrived on scene and found the driver of the F-250 pickup truck unresponsive.

Based on witness statements and physical evidence on-scene, Sheriff’s department officials determined the pick-up truck was traveling south bound on Post road near 6905 Post Road, when the truck crossed over into north bound traffic and continued off the roadway and struck a tree in the wood line.

The driver, 67-year-old Thomas Shriner of Forsyth County, was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The crash remains under investigation.
