Severe weather expected in Southeast Georgia this afternoon

The National Weather Service is predicting severe thunderstorms throughout Southeast Georgia this afternoon.

Numerous scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and evening across Southeast South Carolina and Southeast Georgia.

A few of these thunderstorms could become severe with localized damaging wind gusts and perhaps an isolated tornado.

The risk for severe thunderstorms will be the greatest between 3 and 9 p.m.
