57-year-old charged in cutting death of 69-year-old homeless man

SAVANNAH — The Savannah Police Department has charged a suspect with murder in the Sept. 4 death of Issac Singleton Sr.

Police responded to the 1100 block of Hadley Street at about 2:20 p.m. Sept. 4 and discovered Singleton, who was 69 and homeless, suffering from wounds sustained during a cutting. He was transported to a hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

Detectives identified 57-year-old Lionel Cook as a suspect in the incident. Cook has been booked into the Chatham County Detention Center on charges of murder.
