18-year-old arrested in shooting at Gwinnett office building

SUWANEE — Gwinnett County Police say they have arrested the gunman in a shooting Friday at an office building near Satellite Blvd. and McGinnis Ferry Road.

In the course of their investigation, Homicide detectives obtained probable cause for the issuance of Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault warrants on 18-year-old Joshua Brandt of Gainesville. At about 10 a.nm. Saturday Brandt was taken into custody without incident.

The victim has been identified as 38-year-old James Ross of Loganville. Ross died from gunshot injuries.

While one other person inside the business at the time was transported to the hospital with a minor, non-gunshot injury, no other people inside the business were fired upon. 

Police say they received multiple reports regarding an active shooter situation at a business in the area of 600 Satellite Blvd. at about 2:30 p.m. Friday. Upon the arrival of police, one gunshot victim was located, although the business was occupied by multiple employees at the time of the shooting.
