Two Women Run Down Outside of Johns Creek Bar

JOHNS CREEK — Two women were struck by a car outside a bar in Johns Creek early Saturday morning. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation the driver then started driving towards a police officer who fired his weapon in response.

At about 1:45 a.m., Johns Creek police officers were dispatched to Bliss Bar and Lounge at 10305 Medlock Bridge Road in Johns Creek. Witnesses at the scene report that a vehicle driven by a female hit two women in the parking lot.

According to the GBI, The officer fired at the vehicle as it drove towards the officer. The vehicle fled from the parking lot. The two women were transported to a local hospital, one with serious injuries from being struck by the vehicle and the other with minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 30-year-old Yasmine Mbi of Johns Creek. At about 7:30 a.m., the vehicle driven by Mbi was located parked at an unrelated location in Johns Creek.

Mbi was located and arrested at her residence shortly after the discovery of the vehicle. Mbi did not receive any injuries during the incident. Police arrested Mbi on charges of Aggravated Assault and Hit and Run.

No officers were injured during the incident.

The GBI will continue its independent investigation. Once completed, it will be turned over to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office for review.
