A car crashed through the Emergency Room doors at Piedmont Hospital in Buckhead Tuesday morning, striking two people in the waiting room and bumping several others. One person died after being struck by the vehicle.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, a woman was arriving for an appointment between 7 and 7:30 a.m. and lost control of her vehicle, striking another vehicle.
After striking the vehicle, she veered off into the entrance to the emergency room area where her car struck at least two people and bumped several others.
One of the people struck was pronounced dead on the scene and four other people received non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say this did not appear to be a deliberate act.
