Dogtopia comes to Midtown Atlanta

ATLANTA — Dogtopia, a nationwide dog daycare, boarding and spa facility, is opening a new location in West Midtown July 1. Located right behind the Westside Provisions District at 1201 West Lane, this location marks the first Dogtopia in Atlanta and the second in Georgia.

Dogtopia uses webcam technology in each playroom to allow pet parents to check on their pups from anywhere. The company will also offer contactless curbside drop-off and pick-up through its app.

In celebration of the new location, Dogtopia is running a Founder Offer which includes two weeks of unlimited daycare for $99. Additionally, Dogtopia has teamed up with local artist and SCAD student, Cherry Chandra, to commission a unique wall mural showcasing Dogtopia’s mascot, Scruffy, set behind Atlanta’s skyline.

To ensure the safety of all pups, pet parents and staff, Dogtopia maintains a custom cleaning program that uses pet-safe products that clean, disinfect and offer the highest level of safety available.

The playrooms are sanitized twice daily from top to bottom when the pups are resting, and routine detail cleaning is performed throughout the day. Additionally, collars and slip leads are disinfected before each use. Each playroom has a powerful HVAC system, with in-duct UV lighting, that funnels air out of the building to ensure clean, fresh air, and eliminating bacteria.

The new location is operated by general manager Jose Louis, pet parent relations manager Kaitlyn Patrick and area manager Laura Ruiz. All from greater Atlanta, Louis, Patrick and Ruiz worked together at the Dogtopia in Roswell, and are excited to open Atlanta’s first Dogtopia to local pups and pet parents.

Louis started his Dogtopia journey in November 2019 after working in the pet industry for four years. He loved what Dogtopia offered the Roswell community and says he is excited to bring that same care to West Midtown.

Patrick found her passion for pet care in college working at an animal hospital, and understands the positive impact of happy, socialized dogs.

Ruiz rounds out the trio with additional pet care experience, working in both retail and pet services. The three say they are looking forward to creating a positive, safe place for pups to learn and have fun.

“We are thrilled to bring Dogtopia to the neighborhood and provide much-needed care for dogs in the area,” said Louis. “Our mission is to create the most exciting day ever for pups, while giving their parents peace of mind while they’re working from home or away. Instead of being left alone at home or in an isolated kennel environment, Dogtopia provides an opportunity for our furry children to meet new friends, get exercise, enjoy playtime and have quality human interaction while at daycare.”

The facility features an open layout where each playroom offers space for dogs of similar size and temperament. Each playroom also has compressed rubber flooring to ease joints, prevent slipping and promote safer play. Dogtopia’s fees are all-inclusive – meals are prepared according to each pet parent’s direction.

“We understand the dogs in our care are more than just pets – they’re members of the family,” added Patrick. “Our employees are meticulously trained to take every measure possible to guarantee their comfort, safety and meet all of their needs.”

Dogtopia has also launched the Dogtopia Foundation with the noble cause to enable dogs to positively change our world. The foundation funds programs focused around three worthy causes: Services Dogs for Veterans, Youth Literacy Programs and Employment Initiatives for Adults with Autism. One hundred percent of funds raised are donated directly to supported organizations. To learn more, visit www.dogtopiafoundation.org.
