Police say 6-year-old South Fulton boy was accidentally shot by a sibling

SOUTH FULTON — Police in South Fulton say a 6-year-old who was shot and killed Wednesday was accidentally shot by one of his siblings.

Police say at about 6:50 p.m., the City of South Fulton Police Department responded to the 2600 block of Fox Hall Lane South regarding a person shot call.

Upon arrival, a 6-year-old boy was found suffering from a gunshot wound. The child was declared dead on scene.

“Preliminary investigation and evidence produced thus far in the inquiry have led detectives to believe that the shooting was accidental by one of the siblings from an unattended weapon,” said City of South Fulton Police spokesman Lt. J. Rogers. “The investigation is ongoing. Our hearts cry out for this family during this difficult time.”

The 6-year-old had two siblings, ages eight and four who police say were present at the time of the shooting.
