ATLANTA — For the first time in over a week, the City of Atlanta will not have a curfew.
In response to protests that turned violent, the city set a 9 p.m. curfew that was in effect until Friday night when it was moved up an hour to 8 p.m.
There is no curfew in place for Saturday night.
Last Friday, a peaceful protest in downtown Atlanta erupted into violence. Crowds of protestors vandalized the CNN building, burned cars on Marietta Street and threw items, including knives at police officers.
Subsequent protests did not turn violent and did not go late into the night due to the curfews.
