20-year-old arrested for terroristic threats against Ahmaud Arbery protestors

A 20-year-old Liberty County man has been arrested and charged with Dissemination of Information Relating to Terroristic Acts after a social media post related to the Ahmaud Arbery case.

On Saturday, May 9, at about 11:55 p.m., the GBI was made aware of a Facebook post that contained a threat to future protests related to Ahmaud Arbery.

On Sunday, May 10, the GBI arrested Rashawn Smith, who was taken into custody in Midway and will be booked into the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office. 

This investigation was conducted with the assistance of the FBI & Liberty County Sheriff’s Office.
