DECATUR — A second arrest has been made in the April 22 slaying of a 21-year-old in Decatur.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Fugitive Unit, working with the Cobb County Police Department, arrested 19-year-old Austell resident Eliyahu Benyamin as a possible second suspect. According to the Sheriff’s Dept., Benyamin is suspected of facilitating the shooting death of 21 year-old Atlanta resident Reeves Vadorian McSwain during a transaction on Longdale Drive in Decatur on April 22.

On April 27, sheriff’s investigators arrested a 15-year-old who was wanted for shooting a McSwain to death and taking money allegedly intended for purchase of a weapon.

According to warrants, Benyamin took McSwain out of a vehicle and left him in the road after he was shot by the juvenile.

Warrants were issued on April 28 for Benyamin’s arrest on charges of Murder and Aggravated Assault. Benyamin was located and arrested without incident in Mableton by the DeKalb Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit with the Cobb County Police Department.

The suspect was transported to the DeKalb County Jail. The juvenile suspect remains in custody at a regional youth detention center.
