Kemp admitted he just learned about asymptomatic coronavirus spread and Twitter went crazy

At a news conference yesterday announcing his intention to sign a shelter in place order, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp acknowledged that he had just found out that asymptomatic people could spread coronavirus.

“Those individuals could have been infecting people before they ever felt bad, but we didn’t know that until the last 24 hours,” Kemp said in the news conference where he called the information “a game-changer.”

While it is true that the CDC did release information Monday stating that 25% of people who have coronavirus may be asymptomatic, health officials — including Dr. Anthony Fauci — have said asymptomatic spread of the virus is a reality for months.

Kemp’s revelation quickly made it from Kemp’s news conference to national news organizations and then to Twitter, where Kemp became a trending topic. There’s the background information, here are some of the things Twitter users near and far are saying about the governor of Georgia.
