Motorcycle driver dead after collision with Chevy Tahoe

DACULA — A 27-year-old motorcycle driver is dead after a collision with a Chevy Tahoe Saturday evening.

The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating the fatality crash. The original incident occurred on Saturday, Feb. 15 at about 7:30 p.m.

According to police, the preliminary investigation revels that Braetan Petraro was traveling east on Braselton Highway approaching the Hamilton Creek Parkway intersection on his white motorcycle. As he was continuing straight, the driver of a white Chevrolet Tahoe attempted to make a left turn in front of the motorcycle. The vehicles collided. 

Petraro was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. 

On Sunday, Feb. 16, Petraro died as a result of his injuries in the collision. 

Police say the driver of the white Tahoe, 63-year-old Samuel Perry, has been charged with Homicide by Vehicle 2nd Degree and Failure to Yield Turning Left. 

He has not yet been arrested, though police say he is aware of the charges.
