Lazy Llama is replacing HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern in Midtown Atlanta

ATLANTA — The owner’s aren’t changing, but the restaurant is. Midtown’s decade-old HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern is being replaced by Lazy Llama Cantina on Feb. 26.

Lazy Llama will serve tacos and other Mexican specialties along with a wide selection of tequilas.

But fans of HOBNOB are not out of luck. A new location for HOBNOB is opening up in Atlantic Station.

“We are getting close to opening HOBNOB Atlantic Station and due to its proximity to HOBNOB Midtown we thought converting this location to a new and fresh concept would make sense. After talking to many of our valued guests, it was clear that great Mexican food was something they craved,” said Sean Yeremyan, owner of Lazy Llama Cantina and HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern. “We are committed to growing the HOBNOB brand and felt that Atlantic Station was the best place for it in this area. That gave us the opportunity to bring Lazy Llama to Midtown!”

Yeremyan tapped longtime Atlanta chef Jeffrey Gardner to consult on the menu. Gardner has created a menu of assorted tacos including carnitas, al pastor, braised short rib and carne asada, along with a selection of enchiladas and quesadillas. Lazy Llama will feature lunch specials for $11.95. The Saturday and Sunday brunch crowd can look forward to specialties such as huevos rancheros, huevos divorciados, chilaquiles, horchata French toast and more.

Sports fans will be glad to hear that the restaurant has increased the number of TVs to 20 and committed to showing all the games via NFL Sunday Ticket. The neighborhood restaurant also will undergo several interior and exterior cosmetic touch-ups giving it a new look and feel.

Loyal patrons craving HOBNOB’s award-winning burgers or zesty Nashville hot chicken sliders can look forward to the new Atlantic Station location in 2020. Yeremyan also plans to open another HOBNOB and a new concept, Cattle Shed Wine & Steak Bar, in Forsyth’s Halcyon mixed-use village later this year.

Lazy Llama Cantina, formerly HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern Midtown, is at 1551 Piedmont Ave. NE, 404-968-2288.
