Police say Georgia man killed his 81-year-old mother

SUWANEE — A Gwinnett County man is in custody after police say he killed his 81-year-old mother and then attempted to intentionally run into oncoming traffic.

At about 8:17 p.m. Gwinnett County police officers responded to a call of a man running into oncoming traffic. Police say the man intentionally ran into vehicles that were traveling on the roadway.

When officers arrived on scene the 45-year-old suspect told them that he had just killed his mother. The suspect provided the address to officers on scene to be a residence on Chelsea Falls Lane in Unincorporated Suwanee.

Upon their arrival officers found 81-year-old Myung Kim with stab wounds to her face and throat. She was transported to the hospital, where she later died. The suspect, Otto Kim was placed into custody and has been charged with Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Battery, and Aggravated Assault. 

He is currently incarcerated at the Gwinnett County Jail. Both the suspect and the victim lived together inside the residence.
