Two roads in Hall County remain closed due to storm damage

In the wake of yesterday’s storms that caused floods and road closures throughout Georgia, Hall County officials are reporting that two country roads remain closed.

Both Lawson Road and Calvary Church Road remain closed due to hazardous conditions caused by heavy rains Thursday.

“There’s a heavy storm water flow and possible damage to the roadway that will need to be repaired,” Hall County Engineer Kevin McInturff said about Lawson Road Thursday afternoon. “It’s just not safe for motorists at this time.”

Both roads will remain closed until further notice.

Hall County officials closed Belton Bridge Road and Bryant Quarter Road late Thursday evening; however, both of those roadways were reopened early Friday morning.

Rufus Bryant Road at its intersection with Stowers Road was also closed for a time Thursday night due to downed trees blocking the roadway.  That blockage has also since been cleared.
