Schools in Pickens County are closed Friday due to icy road conditions.
The school system said as a precaution it would be closed due to icy patches on roads at higher elevations and temperatures hovering around freezing.
All students and staff have the day off, but 240-day staff should report to work only if it is safe to travel.
