Police search for suspect in Dunwoody armed robbery

DUNWOODY — Police in Dunwoody are searching for clues to help identify a man who allegedly robbed a woman as she was entering her apartment and then struck her with a handgun.

The Dunwoody Police Department is investigating the armed robbery that occurred Jan. 7 2020 at about 2:00 a.m. at the Peachtree Place North Apartments.

The victim reported she was approached by an unknown man as she was about to enter her apartment. The victim told police the man pointed a handgun at her, demanded her money, and then struck her with the firearm before taking her money and fleeing.

The victim was later transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the Dunwoody Police Dept., the assailant was described as a slim black man wearing a gray hoodie.
