DULUTH — Gwinnett County Police officials are investigating a pedestrian crash in Duluth that led to the death of a 20-year-old Loganville man Saturday Night.

According to police officials, officers were dispatched to a pedestrian crash at Duluth Parkway and Primerica Parkway at about 7 p.m. Dec. 14.

When officers arrived, they located 20-year-old Deiago Scott suffering from significant injuries.  Deiago was transported to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

“Based on the preliminary investigation, the driver of a brown Saab was traveling east on Duluth Highway in the right lane,” police spokeswoman Michele Pihera said. “According to the driver and the passenger of the Saab, they were traveling through a green light at the intersection with Primerica Parkway. Deiago was attempting to cross the roadway in the crosswalk when the two collided.”

Police say alcohol and speed are not believed to be contributing factors.
