Warner Robbins convenience store employee shot during armed robbery

WARNER ROBBINS — A robbery at a conveniene store in Warner Robbins turned deadly Sunday afternoon.

Police officers were dispatched to a convenience store at 700 Russell Parkway due to an armed robbery. When officers arrived on the scene they found 49-year-old Navaneetbhai Patel, the husband of a store employee, was shot during the robbery.

Patel was transported to Houston Medical Center where he died.

There were several customers inside the business along with an employee when the robbery occurred.

The robber escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and was described as medium height, wearing all black clothing, and last seen fleeing on foot behind the business.
