Two men rob Macon post office

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a commercial armed robbery that took place at the United States Post Office at 1040 Pio Nono Avenue Friday.

According to the sheriff’s department, two masked men entered the post office at about 1:15 p.m. One of the robbers brandished a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. When the robbers received an undisclosed amount of cash, they fled the scene.

The masked men ran behind the post office, headed towards Patterson Street.

Witnesses said they saw the men get into a red Honda, with a “drive-out” tag. The suspects fled the area in an unknown direction. No one was injured during this incident.

According to the sheriff’s department, both suspects were described as black males wearing dark colored, hooded sweat shirts with bandanna’s covering their faces.
