McDonald's Play Place equipment recalled due to fall hazard

The Recall: Soft Play has recalled its Spider Climb Playground Climbers due to a fall hazard. The equipment was sold exclusively to 200 McDonald’s Restaurants nationwide and placed in their play areas between February 2016 and October 2018.

The Reason: The climbing platforms were placed too far apart, posing a fall hazard to children who can fall while climbing from one platform to the next.

The Numbers: There have been 37 incidents of children falling, resulting in 34 reported injuries.

The Fix: Soft Play has contacted all purchasers directly and installed additional platforms in the structures free of charge.

Recall Date: The Spider Climb was recalled Oct. 18, 2019.

Contact: Soft Play collect at 704-948-3442 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or online at www.softplay.com and click on “Recall Alert” for more information.
