Fulton County chairman to business owners: 'Pay your fair share'
Robb Pitts

FULTON COUNTY — Fulton County Commission Chairman Robb Pitts is taking aim at business owners in the county, specifically those who own commercial property.

According to Pitts, commercial property owners have a high rate of success appealing tax assessments on their businesses, resulting in lower property values than those set by the tax assessor’s office.

“The tax system is fair when everyone pays their share,” said Pitts.

The commission chairman says he is working with members of Fulton County’s legislative delegation to propose changes to Georgia’s laws relating to the commercial property tax appeals process.

“This is a complex matter and we will be working closely with everyone involved to find a solution that helps us reach greater equity,” Pitts said.
