Construction set to begin on new park in Chamblee

CHAMBLEE — The City of Chamblee will break ground next week on the International Village Park.

The official groundbreaking ceremony for the new park will be held at 3 p.m. April 22 at 3375 Chamblee Dunwoody Road in Chamblee.

Once completed, the revitalized plan for this 1.4 acre park will feature a multiuse field, community garden, new playground, entertainment plaza, renovated parking lot, lighting, fencing and reforestation around the entire property.

Construction for the park is scheduled to begin in May, with completion scheduled for January 2020, weather permitting.

Canfield Park, located at 3090 Canfield Drive, is also undergoing revitalization. Additions include a playground structure, building a retaining wall that also serves as a seat wall and adding a concrete sidewalk at the entrance. This work is scheduled to be complete January 2020, weather permitting.
