The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has tested samples of Rice Krispy treats and heart-shaped lollipops sent from Sandtown Middle School and concluded that the cereal bars tested positive for THC.
On Tuesday, February 19, 2019, the GBI Crime Lab received 46 items of food products for testing from the Fulton County Schools Police Department.
Test results of one of the items that has the appearance of cereal has revealed the presence of THC.
On Valentine’s Day 28 students fell ill and were hospitalized after eating the drug-laced sweets.
According to the police report filed after the incident, students said they ate a heart-shaped lollipop and Rice Krispy treats, but were unable to tell officers who gave them the items.
