A 12-year-old Duluth boy was killed Tuesday night after being struck by three vehicles on Pleasant Hill Road.

Police say the child was attempting to cross the street.

Shortly after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, officers dispatched to a pedestrian accident on Pleasant Hill Road near Woodberry Drive. Once the officers arrived, they found a 12-year-old Gianni Salazar with serious injuries.

Also at the scene were the drivers of three different vehicles. The boy was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

The investigators assigned to the Accident Investigation Unit were called to the scene. Investigators say Salazar was attempting to cross Pleasant Hill Road near Woodberry Drive when he was struck by the three vehicles and that he was not in a crosswalk.

The drivers of all three vehicles remained at the scene and will not face any criminal charges.
