Jewel thief steals more than $14,000 in merchandise while employee is distracted

Gwinnett Police need your help identifying a jewel thief. On December 29, 2018 the suspect entered SR Jewelers at 2100 Pleasant Hill Road in unincorporated Duluth. An employee was helping three other individuals and her view of one side of the store was blocked. During that time police say the suspect came in and was able to access a display case. He took at least 15 pieces of jewelry valued at over $14,000.

According to police, the suspect is described as a black male, possibly in his 30s to 40s, 5’06” –to 5’8” tall, and 160 to 180 pounds.
