Death of 49-year-old Lawrenceville woman ruled a homicide

A 49-year-old Lawrenceville woman was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound Nov. 2 after police received a call from her fiancee’ who reported he found the victim dead in her home.

According to Gwinnett County Police Dept. spokesperson Michele Pihera, officers arriving on the scene discovered Denise Bukart-Haynes had died from an apparent gunshot wound to her head. There were no signs of forced entry to the residence.

The death has been ruled a homicide and no information has been released on the suspect due to an on-going investigation, police say.
