Fulton County will hold a pep rally to get residents to register to vote

The Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections encourages residents to join others across the nation who will be registering to vote. On September 21, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m., all residents are invited to gather at the Fulton County Government Center in the Assembly Hall located at 141 Pryor Street for a Pep Rally, drum line included, to promote voter registration and the importance of knowing the registration process.

“Our Voter Registration Team thought it was important for us to do something out of the box in order to engage residents in the voter registration process,” stated Richard Barron, Director of the Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections. “In addition to joining millions of Americans to celebrate National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, September 25, we wanted to hold an event to empower our residents to be able to register their eligible family members, friends, co-workers, and  others to vote.”

In addition to the Pep Rally on Friday, September 21, 2018, the Registration Team will provide brief presentations covering topics such as the absentee ballot and voter registration process, felon resource information, and insight on our front counter experience. They will also have voter education materials available, voter registration forms and light refreshments.

“It is our hope that this event will benefit our residents by giving them the opportunity to meet the people who work hard to ensure they can exercise their right to vote,” stated Barron. “Also, we hope to get people interested in joining the registration process by signing-up to become Deputy Registrars.”
